Couples Counseling

When you feel alone in a relationship, it impacts everything in your life. Maybe you don’t feel appreciated, noticed, or just overly criticized. You’re missing “the spark,” you once had. You start to feel more like roommates. Maybe you’re at the point where you just stop fighting and just ignore each other. Maybe you thought everything was going fine, but you just got blindsided.

If you are asking yourself serious questions about staying together or separating, don’t do it alone. Our therapists are here to support you.

Relationships are supposed to be a source of comfort, teamwork, and fun. Being part of a couple means someone in this world has your back. Enjoying being together.

We use counseling exercises to help couples create a new and improved relationship out of any circumstances — from the “unforgivable” infidelity, constant arguing, or just dismissal, and more. Investing time and energy in your relationship is invaluable.

Our therapists know personally and professionally about relationships and the impact they can have on your life (both good and bad!).

“When your relationship is healthy, it frees you up, you feel happier and have more energy to be successful in your career, family, and friendships.”

Investing in your relationship is a gift to yourself and your family. In couples counseling, we aim to help you argue less, feel more heard, understood, valued, and appreciated. If we’re honest, we want you to just have a lot more fun too!

The benefits you’ll see from doing Couples Counseling at Inspire:

– You and your partner can start to feel heard, understood, and connected
– You will learn what “triggers” you in your relationship and how to manage those “triggers”
– You will learn healthy communication skills that directly influence your happiness
– You will learn how to process hurt, pain, resentment from the past so you can be free to move forward
– You will better understand your past and your partner’s past that has influenced you
– You will have time to visualize the future and each of your dreams for contentment and happiness

What does the counseling process look like?

The counseling process is designed to help you understand and empower you to live your best life, free of relationship patterns that hold you back. Together, with your therapist, you will learn how to address the things that trigger you. Learn coping skills to do at home with your partner, and individually.

The first session will be approximately 60 minutes. There will be paperwork to complete and questions the therapist will ask to get to know you, your history, and your present situation. The second session (and all remaining will be 50-55 minutes long). In the second session, we use our unique formula for goal-setting. You will get a chance to connect the desires of your goals with your heart and deeper desires in this life. The remainder of the sessions will then be working on skills to tackle your memories and any obstacles in the way of you living your best life.

In order to see lasting results, a commitment to at least 8 weekly sessions is best. We are flexible and can work with different situations. However, to make an impact, it is important to recognize that change of any kind, requires attention and time. After your 8 sessions, you can work with your therapist to determine the next steps (reducing therapy to biweekly/monthly or terminating).

How much does therapy cost?

Counseling is a fee-for-service program. Inspire accepts insurance and offers in-network and out-of-network benefits. We are in-network with BCBS PPO, Humana, Aetna, and United Behavior Healthcare. We recommend at least an 8-week commitment to begin seeing lasting results.

What will the first session be like?2023-10-25T02:13:43-05:00

The first session lasts approximately 60 minutes. You’ll have paperwork to complete virtually before your session. The therapist will spend time introducing themselves and getting to know you, your story and your dreams. At the end, you’ll have the option to schedule your next session based upon your availability and goals. There is no pressure to book another session. We’re here for you to come and go as you need.
FOR MINORS UNDER 18: If the session is for a child 12 years or younger, the first session is just with the therapist and parent (s) or guardian. If the client is 12-18, we ask that a parent (or guardian) attend the first session for the first 10-15 minutes. The parent will be able to meet the therapist and help make the child feel comfortable.
PLEASE NOTE: Please share any concerns about your child with the therapist or Intake Team prior to the session— not in front of your child in the session. This is to protect your child and foster a positive start to therapy!

What will all the other sessions be like?2023-10-25T02:14:39-05:00

The second session is our unique formula for goal setting. In this session, your therapist will help you connect and understand what your heart really wants in this life. The remainder of the sessions will then be working on skills to tackle any obstacles in the way of you living your best life. In order to see lasting results, a commitment to at least 8 weekly sessions is recommended. However, we are flexible and can work with you to accommodate your schedule and goals.

FOR MINORS UNDER 18: Parents will not be required to attend the sessions but must be available for the last 10 minutes of the session in case the therapist would like to touch base with you or for any scheduling changes.

✨ Meet Our New Therapist: Addie Nelson, LCSW ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Addie to the Inspire team! 💛

Addie works with adolescents, college students, young adults, adults, seniors, and couples, and brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to therapy that blends evidence-based care with genuine human connection.

She has extensive experience supporting clients with:
🌿 OCD & specific anxiety disorders
🌿 Phobias & perfectionism
🌿 ADHD & executive functioning
🌿 Chronic illness & life transitions
🌿 Grief & loss, mood disorders, and behavioral concerns

Addie’s passion for therapy is deeply personal. Having navigated anxiety, depression, and chronic illness herself, she understands how isolating it can feel to struggle internally while still trying to “function.” Her lived experience shapes how she shows up—with compassion, humility, and real understanding.

Her sessions are thoughtful but relaxed, structured without rigidity, and always centered on meeting you where you are. Addie incorporates CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP for OCD and anxiety, while focusing just as much on practical tools and feeling truly seen.

✨ “I believe the bravest thing a person can do is ask for help.”

If you’re navigating anxiety, OCD, chronic illness, or a season of change, Addie would be honored to walk alongside you.

January doesn’t have to be a reset.
It can be a gentle restart.

If this month feels heavy, slow, or emotionally loud—you’re not doing it wrong. January often brings reflection, pressure, and big feelings, even when the world expects “fresh starts.”

✨ It’s okay to:
• Move at your own pace
• Rebuild routines slowly
• Ask for help instead of pushing through

Your mental health matters just as much as your goals.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our therapists and medication prescribers are here to support you—whether you’re looking for a place to talk, tools to cope, or help finding balance again.

💛 January is a great time to care for you—in whatever way you need.

Turning a new page in 2026 isn’t about becoming someone else.

It’s about coming back to yourself. 🌿

Counseling can help you rewrite the stories that say:
🌿“I’m too much.”
🌿“I’m not enough.”
🌿“It will never change.”

And for some people, medication can help too — not as a “fix,” but as support.
Sometimes it helps quiet the noise enough to do the deeper work.

For some people, it’s the bridge that makes healing possible.
✨ Healing is not a resolution.
✨It’s a relationship with yourself… and support can be part of that.

If you’re hoping to turn a new page in 2026, your next step doesn’t have to be perfect…

it just has to be yours.

💛 You deserve support.
