Father’s Day is this weekend!!

While we're all looking for a great gift to show our love and appreciation, it's also a time to remember that dad's need emotional support too.

We see many dads out there are silently suffering. Often times men’s mental health gets overlooked. At an early age, many males are taught not to cry or complain. They are encouraged to “man up,” be strong, brave, dig deep and push feelings aside.

One of our long-term therapists, Katie McCabe wrote a quick blog article with tips for how to support men.

Often times when men are not getting the support they need, they feel like they're going mindlessly through the motions of their life, day after day, almost like sleepwalking. They may be unaware themselves that they could be so much more fulfilled and happy. Many dads want to share with their family, but just are not sure how.

It's incredible to see the transformation for men when they are able to open up, talk to their partners and families. Not only does it improve their relationships, but it improves the lives of the WHOLE FAMILY! When one person is struggling, it impacts the entire family unit.

No matter how you’re feel about it, let’s look at the facts about men.

FACTS:
~ Nearly 1 in 10 men experience depression or anxiety
~ 4 times as many men as women die by suicide every year
~ Men do benefit from psychotherapy!

So this Father’s Day, it’s an opportunity to take stock of the men in your life. Think about their mental and emotional health. It's a great opportunity to invest in their happiness with support for aliveness and balance.

Whether you’re missing your Dad or thinking about the way you were parented, questioning your own decisions as a parent, want to regain your sense of self, or finally give a voice to the pain you’ve been living with-- we're here to support you.

Katie loves working with adult males, and would be honored to introduce you to therapy as a space that’s all about you.

RIBBON CUTTING & GRAND OPENING: Inspire Counseling Evanston

You're invited!!! Wednesday, June 26 at 9am at 911 Church Street, Evanston.

The ceremony is graciously organized by the Evanston Chamber of Commerce
and will be led by Mayor Biss to celebrate Evanston's newest mental health facility.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the beautiful new build out, as the practice is open by appointment only.

Located in the old Urban Outfitters building, right by the AMC Theater, Egg Harbor and Sky Zone. The space is a brand new build out, boasting 12 beautiful offices, in the heart of downtown Evanston.

Inspire Counseling Center has three other locations in Northbrook, Kenilworth and Lake Forest. The Evanston office is the newest office and is already proudly serving the community.

All are welcome to help with the Grand Opening and supporting mental health.
While it's only June, we're hearing from many students (and parents!) that the transition to college this fall is already on their minds. It's a big transition for everyone in the family.

It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by the unknowns, such as making new friends, handling academic pressures, and living independently for the first time.

This summer is a great time to set up your college student for success.

One effective way to ease this transition is by preparing as much as possible before the move.

Experienced therapist, Megan O'Brien, wrote some quick tips for how to help prep for the transition to college. As a former college counselor, she knows support provides a huge benefit to make the most of college years. The transitions in college lead students to feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and isolated.

She's helped students cope with emotions to meet academic pressures, work, and family demands. She's also assisted students in their future career success with personal, professional, academic, and financial guidance. Together, she sets goals and celebrated progress with regular check-ins to stay on track.

Inspire company summer meeting & party!!

We had friends from all 4 offices (Lake Forest, Northbrook, Kenilworth & Evanston) come together!!

Therapist spend most of their career alone, behind closed doors with clients. While that’s the thing we love to do most, it’s good for the soul to get out of the office, hang out and just have some FUN together as a team!!!

These therapists are absolutely amazing and we are always looking for ways to show them how appreciated they are here!!!

Very early on in the business, I decided that the very best thing I could do is to take good care of my employees, so they can take good care of their clients. While I’m not perfect, I honestly love my team and work hard every day to make Inspire a great place to work!!

Plus, Therapists are some of the most fun and interesting people to hang out with!! Open-minded, non-judgmental, warm, kind and considerate humans are my favorite ❤️

To my Inspire team - I love you!!!!! Thank you for choosing us to share your beautiful gifts & talents with our communities.

I will work harder every day for you so you can continue serving our beautiful communities.

Xoxo,
Lauren
