Meet, Kate Dakhoul!!
Kate is currently accepting new clients, with daytime/evening/weekend availability and accepts BCBS, UnitedHealthCare, Humana!!
Where are you from?
I’m from the South Suburbs of Chicago but recently bought a home in the Western burbs with my husband and our new pup, Kora!
What do you do for fun?
For fun, I like to work on DIY projects, redecorate spaces, or bake. I’m hoping to take up gardening this spring, although I’ve never really had much of a green thumb.
What’s your favorite inspirational quote, song or book?
My favorite inspirational quote is: “It’s okay to not have it figured out yet”
Who do you love working with?
I love working with late adolescents and young adult women. My ideal client is someone who is (somewhat :) )motivated to make some positive changes!
What is your favorite thing to help people overcome?
My favorite thing to work on with clients is anxiety! Watching people break through the chains of their anxiety is so rewarding. I also have a special place in my heart for working with folks struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating. My work is informed from a Health at Every Size (HEAS) perspective and I believe in creating a space where folks feel accepted and safe in their bodies.
What is your approach to therapy, what’s your vibe?
My therapy approach is laid back, inviting, and conversational. I love to laugh and bring humor into sessions!
What excites you most about your job?
Being able to participate and provide encouragement through all of life challenges and show clients that they aren’t alone excites me. I consider it such an honor to invited into the heart of someone who is hurting or struggling. I also love seeing lives transformed and bearing witness to those “aha” moments.
What inspired you to become a therapist?
Growing up I was always an empath- in tune with feelings of those around me. After my own experiences of working with a therapist during a time of grief and loss, I knew that this was the path for me! I am now continually inspired by each client and their bravery to take steps to improve their lives!
