Katie has both life experience and clinical experience to relate to adolescents and parents. She grew up on Northwest side of Chicago in the Edgebrook neighborhood and graduated from Loyola Academy.
Katie is a step-mom, wife and knows firsthand the power of family, parenting, and the important need for supporting adolescents. She has an uncanny ability to listen, hear you, relate and make you feel safe. She is calm, warm, and strong. It was through her own counseling that she found her strength, voice, and passion for helping others.
Kids & Adolescents
Prior to becoming a therapist, Katie Spent more than 12 years combined working in schools with kids needing emotional and behavioral support. Katie most recently worked at Niles Central Alternative High School as a paraprofessional, Summer School Teacher, and Homebound Tutor. She also was a Special Education Teacher for kids grades K-12 in the Chicago and Skokie schools. There, she created a different curriculum to engage students, created behavior intervention plans, and participated in Positive Behavior Intervention Systems committees.
She has experience coaching high school girls Track and Field and Girls on the Run.
Katie loves empowering kids to find their own path, defining their own success, and feeling confidence and connection in their life!
Women & Parents
Katie found her own voice as a woman in her time in therapy and now loves empowering other women to find theirs. Katie can relate to many struggles women, moms, and blended families face — and does so with kindness and empathy.
In her own life, journey, and struggles as a woman, she is able to relate and gently empower other women who have experienced traumas, difficulties in parenting, or their daily lives.
For fun, Katie loves to spend time with her family, get fresh air and spend time with her adorable pup.
