How does Family Therapy Work?

Family therapy sessions usually involve two or more family members meeting with a licensed therapist—either all together or in smaller combinations depending on the family’s needs.

Sessions typically last about 50 minutes and are held weekly or biweekly. The therapist guides conversations to help family members communicate more effectively, understand each other’s perspectives, and work through conflicts or challenges as a team.

Goals are tailored to each family and may evolve over time. Some sessions may also include individual check-ins if helpful. We’ll work together to create a plan that supports your family’s unique path to healing and connection.
