Who is this group for?
This group is for Jr High & High Schoolers who are interested (or obsessed!) with the cartoon phenomenon Anime.
How often does it meet?
This group will be held once a month, on Saturdays from 10:30-11:30am.
Who leads the group?
This group is led by a seasoned mental health professional, Katherine Nimrod, MA. Katherine has seen firsthand with her own clients how anime can be part of a healthy support system and used as a tool to help reduce and manage anxiety.
What will we do in the group?
Together, with Katherine, you’ll explore the fascinating world of the anime phenomenon, all while connecting with other Jr High and High Schoolers who share the same passion. Laugh, learn, connect and share your favorite anime characters –all while learning some cool tools to manage anxiety.
How do I register, or can I just show up?
Call the Intake Team (847) 919-9096 ext 1 to register.
Registration is required prior to attending the first group. They will get a profile set up and all necessary paperwork completed. A valid credit card must be on file at all times. Before you attend the first session, you will have one individual session with the group leader, Katherine. This is so that you can get to know the group leader, express any concerns or anything you’d like to share privately with her. This process is designed to make sure you feel comfortable, safe and get what you want out of the group.
Do I have to commit to several groups, or can I come to just one?
Once you’re registered, you’re all set to use the group as it works for you. No commitment is necessary! This group is drop-in welcome! Come to one group, come to them all–whatever works for you. You’re welcome to choose the groups to attend that work for your schedule.
How much do they cost?
Groups are $50 per session. You will only be billed if you attend. These are a private service available and are not billed through insurance.
