Hello! My name is Amy Hick. I am the second of four girls and grew up a few blocks from the Kenilworth Inspire location. I find so much joy in empowering my clients to recognize their strengths and value. At the core of my approach to therapy is unconditional positive regard; I strongly believe that an authentic and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship in which you feel seen and heard drives connection, growth, and change.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and utilize humor and personal vulnerability to further strengthen the therapeutic relationship. It would be an honor to be a part of your journey in navigating life’s challenges and unlocking your most authentic self.
Young Adults and Adults
Working at the Adult Mood and Anxiety and Eating Disorder Residential and Partial Hospitalization levels of care, along with over two years of experience in private practice, has allowed me to strengthen my skill set in empowering adults to reconnect with their values and lead more fulfilling, value driven lives.
I vividly remember thinking my 20s were going to be the best years of my life. When I graduated college, however, I felt incredibly overwhelmed by my autonomy and was disappointed in myself as I felt I “should” be happier. I am here to normalize that your 20s are hard, even if no-one really talks about it!
For Fun
I am all about the small joys in life: sunny days, waking up to a hot cup of coffee, Saturday morning farmer’s markets, napping, and snatching a great deal at TJ Maxx. I adore spending time with my friends and family, and I am happiest by the water.
