Alexis Ross, MA, Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Young Adults, Adults, Moms, Couples
Women’s Issues, Relationship Stress, Anxiety, Stressful Life Transitions, Divorce
I am a Chicago native, Winnetka mom, and former finance professional. I am very passionate about counseling and have a very optimistic view on people’s ability to heal.
People generally experience me as warm, non-judgmental, compassionate and quite funny. I am very analytical and love breaking complex situations into tangible small steps. Together, we can make a plan for the future you want and deserve.
Corporate Experience & Career Pivots
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and later went on to receive my MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Most recently, I attended Northwestern for my Masters in Clinical Counseling.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I enjoyed a successful 20 + year career in finance having worked at JP Morgan (formerly Bear Stearns), Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. As a CFO and Private Wealth investor, I learned the importance of working on teams, managing, delegating and most importantly people’s relationship with money and finances.
While I enjoyed my career for many years, I realized my true passion lies in building relationships and empowering people through mental health.
Women’s Issues
Working as a woman in a male-dominated industry, I’ve learned many lessons and skills about navigating relationships. As a Northshore mom, I’ve seen firsthand the rewards and challenges women today face today. The pressures and expectations, not only on ourselves, but our families, can be a lot to navigate.
Relationship stress, anxiety, and life’s transitions can feel overwhelming. I understand personally and professionally and love empowering women to live their life, finding happiness, purpose and peace.
For Fun…
I love meeting people and enjoy socializing. I enjoy intellectual conversations, poetry and singing karaoke. I love stand-up comedy. I believe in the power of exercise and have fun playing pickleball and tennis socially.
