Working with All Ages and Backgrounds:

Ann excels at creating a relaxed atmosphere of acceptance and kindness. Using creativity, honesty and life experience, Ann has honed therapeutic alliances with a broad range of clients from all ages and backgrounds. When working with Ann, you are the focus of the work together,  with an emphasis of solution-focused care and planning.

Locally, Ann has worked in a variety of schools and communities, including Evanston, Kenilworth, Chicago, and the New Trier Learning Center, has incorporated using support dogs in Chicago Public Schools, and has worked in care communities and private homes with persons experiencing cognitive challenges.

From an early age she volunteered with persons in the last stages of life, appreciating their stories, humor and wisdom. Following college she continued to mentor and tutor while working on global environmental issues in our nation’s capital. Drawing from her deep understanding of levels of governance, and commitment to individual growth, Ann returned to the Chicago area for her masters while working in neighborhood schools throughout Chicago’s south and west sides. Drawing on her varied experience, she began to hone in and focus her work on the individual, working to build a full and complete healthy being, and an acute understanding of how that works in their surrounding systems.

Family and Fun:

Ann is a mother of a blended family, a widow, has two college-aged children, and grandchildren from her older stepkids.  In this role, she has managed a household through grief and healing, attended hundreds of sporting events, and helped her kids through losses and victory. As a parent, she has been on the other side of the table within schools, which helps her bring a balanced awareness and an expertise in supporting families and students.

With faith, activity, animals and gardening, she works at self care and continues to enjoy the outdoors and lifelong learning. In her free time she walks, reads, photographs, kayaks, escapes to Wisconsin and cooks. Her family is ever present and a lot of fun.

She currently sees clients of all ages and from diverse communities.
