Please meet Malary VanOverberghe from our Evanston office!

Malary has a calming presence and is warm, kind and curious. She has seen a lot of different difficult cases in her work and is an open-minded, nonjudgemental professional to have in your corner.

Malary grew up on a farm in a small town in Michigan, attending Saint Mary’s College in South Bend before moving to the Chicago for her Master’s at Roosevelt.

🎮Fun fact about Malary -->She is an avid gamer, with more than 3,000 wins on Fortnite. 🎮

She knows how rewarding (and addicting!) technology can be. AND, she knows the importance of finding balance, moving your body each day and relationships IRL (in real life). She is excited to help kids, teens and adults navigate "screen time addiction" to find balance.

Before joining Inspire, Malary began her journey as a personal care technician for people who were developmentally disabled. In her clinical internship, she worked at a nonprofit serving people with intellectual, developmental and psychiatric disabilities. She was part of a team offering living options, day programs, mental health services, family programs and foster care for children with disabilities for 4,500+ members. She also worked at a community center offering life skills, resources and working closely with court-ordered cases through DCFS.

🌈One of Malary's passions is helping clients with identity development. One of the hardest challenges growing up is figuring out who you are and who you want to be. There are a lot of pressures and stresses from society, families, friends, beliefs and personal thoughts and feelings that can impact our ability to be our authentic selves.

Whether it is exploring your sexual or gender identity, or finding the courage to break free from relational or family patterns, Malary will support and encourage you in developing and finding confidence being your true to yourself.

Malary is accepting new clients and has openings on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. To schedule a session, call or TEXT 847-919-9096 or hello@inspirecounselingcenter.com
Allow me to introduce you to Olivia Nickulus from our Lake Forest office!!

Olivia has a kind, bubbly and bright energy and is so excited to be serving the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff community. She grew up in Wisconsin and was a competitive dancer her whole life. At Marquette, she was the team captain of her college dance team and Division 3 State Dance qualifiers all four years. She was also ranked in the Top 6 for Miss Badgerette Soloists.

Before becoming a therapist, Olivia was the Operations Director for one of the country’s leading Pom Pon dance camps, Badgerette. She oversaw 200 dancers ages 8-18 years old, teaching and training. In 2022, she was named in the “Badgertte Hall of Fame,” which honors individuals who have made a difference and given back to the pom and dance world in a positive way.

Her love of dance, teaching and supporting campers led me to want to be a therapist to make a greater impact on the lives of kids and teens.

During her clinical internship, Olivia worked at Children’s Wisconsin hospital, a nationally ranked, freestanding, 298-bed, pediatric acute care children’s hospital. She supported children, adolescents, and their families through a multitude of diagnoses and different life-stressors.

Olivia know the unique rewards, challenges and pressures kids face today. She loves helping kids with sports anxiety and perfectionism, along with disordered eating, ADHD and many others. She is accepting new clients and has daytime, weeknight and weekend openings.

To schedule with Olivia, call or TEXT 847-919-9096, or email hello@inspirecounselingcenter.com
Meet our Northbrook therapist, Jared Pulley, MA, LPC.

Jared's a father, husband and mental health professional for nearly 15 years. He has seen (personally and professionally) how the safety, compassion and power of counseling can create healing and growth.

During Jared's personal journey, he overcame a late diagnosis of ADHD in college, anxiety, depression, a career change, chronic health issues and infertility struggles, which came with pain and grief. Thriving through these challenges, he's now passionate about helping other males overcome life's challenges.

In his junior year of college, Jared struggled to complete assignments that seemed easy for others. With a friend’s support, he got tested and learned he had ADHD. Learning about ADHD was helpful, but it didn’t make the symptoms disappear. He has learned many creative ways to reduce its impact on life and even see how ADHD can be a superpower!

Jared also personally understands the restrictive and debilitating effects of anxiety and depression. He learned that despite their disruptive effects, are the body’s way of trying to get our attention. Many males are conditioned to ignore our needs or learned that our feelings aren’t valid.

Before having their first child, Jared learned about the journey of infertility. As a male, he often felt like just a number at the clinic, not a patient going through this experience alongside his wife. While he and his wife are happy to be growing their family, he also grew with compassion for people struggling with chronic health conditions, infertility and how it can impact your mental health.

At the heart of Jared's work is a stance of compassion. Often, compassion feels foreign to males or is confused with societal messages of weakness. He learned its importance as I entered the helping field and realized that I treated others with more compassion than I treated myself.

Jared is accepting new clients at our Northbrook office. To schedule, call (or TEXT) 847-919-9096 or hello@inspirecounselingcenter.com
Allow me to introduce you to Tom Agan, MHP, Northwestern clinical intern

Tom is a Harvard MBA graduate who has published articles in the New York Times after spending more than 40 years in the business world leading large global teams, earning top rankings as a coach and mentor.

Beyond his career experience, Tom would argue he has learned even more from his life experience. He is a proud husband for more than 35 years and father of 3 grown children. He and his family have lived around the world in London, Georgia, rural Massachusetts, and New York City, before laying their roots in Northbrook (in a house filmed on Ferris Bueller!).

He has faced many of life's struggles--from being bullied as a child, wanting to be a better parent, losing a job, and dealing with grief, he learned to successfully adapted and grow in dozens of ways, including starting a new career as a mental health counselor in his 60s.

Tom loves empowering people to take small steps to create the life you truly want--all while navigating challenges and celebrating successes.

Tom is pragmatic, curious, collaborative, creative, and focused on your strengths. He enjoys laughing with clients and having some fun. Perhaps most importantly, no matter what you reveal, he will not judge you, which is one of his favorite parts of his job.

Most importantly, Tom is living proof that it's never too late to go for your dreams, start a new chapter or create the life you truly want.

Tom is accepting new clients in our Northbrook office. To schedule a session, call (or TEXT) 847-919-9096 or hello@inspirecounselingcenter.com
