The October issue has dropped!! Honored to be included in @sheridanrdmag 's 2024 "Power Women" again this year!!

Sheridan Road is an amazing magazine promoting local businesses, charities, style and trends. Using it's luxury platform to highlight local women is just one of the many ways this magazine connects the community.

I've had the privilege of getting to know Sheridan Road's Editor in Chief, Dustin O'Regan. Her vision, creativity and passion for connecting people goes far beyond the magazine. She supports the arts, charities and loves bringing women together. It's no wonder that the "Power Women" feature is such a hallmark for the magazine. She's the real deal, and one of the kindest people I've met.

Cheers to the other amazing women featured in this month's issue -- and all the women out there quietly doing their "thing" to support their families, business and community.

❤️When women support each other, we can be a formidable force. ❤️

Today’s suicide awareness walk hit close to home for our Inspire family. Our beloved teammate Liz @lizwieczorek’s father of her kids took his life this June. Her brave son @hayden_wieczorek organized this walk #speakupforjoe to celebrate his life AND show that there is hope and support for anyone who’s struggling. He gave a beautiful speech about his dad, honoring his humor, laughter love of life and how he was a great dad. 🥹

There was so much love 💕 laughter, tears, hugs and smiles. People came together in a big way and raised almost $10k for @erikas.lighthouse a non-profit that supports mental health in schools and communities across the country.

Our Inspire team came out to celebrate, support and show our commitment to the community. Any life lost is a tragedy, but the Wieczorwk family showed how beauty can come from the most challenging times.

We are so proud of Liz, her son and daughters for choosing to pay it forward and promote mental health.

When the community comes together to love & support, beautiful things happen. 💕✨💕

Have you ever had a friendship break-up?

They HURT and can be JUST as painful as romantic breakups.

The heartache and grief of losing a close friend is just as real as a partner. In some cases, it can arguably be more painful. In a romantic partnership, one must break up to move on to another partner (in most cases). But in friendships, you don't need to "break up" to move on with other partners. The rejection of knowing a break up isn't necessary can really sting.

Friendships are built on shared experiences, trust, and love. When that fades, it can feel confusing, lonely, and even lead to feelings of betrayal. The emotional toll can be heavy.

Friendship breakups can trigger abandonment and leave us feeling:

💔 Sad or confused about what went wrong
💔 Afraid to trust or open up in future friendships
💔 Lonely and isolated, especially when mutual friends are involved
💔 Nervous or anxious about social situations or making new friends
💔 Stuck replaying old conversations, trying to figure out what happened
💔 Feeling angry and experiencing mal-intent thoughts like revenge.

At Inspire, we understand how deeply painful friendship breakups can be. That's why we focus on real, transformative healing through proven therapies like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). With ACT, we help you accept difficult emotions and develop healthier responses, so you can stop dwelling on the past and move forward with clarity and self-compassion. DBT gives you practical tools to manage emotional triggers, build better communication, and strengthen your relationship

We also address the mindset of fearing the loss of friendships, which often leads to a constant need of approval. Closure is important to move forward from any loss.

When one door closes, another opens—let’s walk through it together. ❤️🤗

Parasocial Relationships=When celebrities & influencers feel like real relationships.

Have you ever felt like you are friends with a character on a show, celeb or influencer? Turns out, you're not alone. That's a "thing!"

It makes sense. Influencers and celebrities share so much these days. They can inspire us, encourage us and make us laugh. It can feel very personal--like you're talking to a close friend.

The problem is that in real life (IRL), that's not how relationships work. Real relationships require effort devloping trust, mutually share, repair after disagreements. You have to invest in each other. It can feel like a lot of WORK!! Especially if you can get your social needs met with your celebrity "friend" who never asks anything of you. You never have to risk sharing or rejection.

If you catch yourself (or your family) doing any of these things, you may be experiencing your own parasocial relationship:

💫 Experiencing emotional turmoil over a celebrity’s actions or situation
💫 Looking to your favorite show or celeb when you need comfort or to feel better
💫 Feeling an obligation or duty to "comment" on posts
💫 Eagerly checking to see if your celeb comments on your comment :)
💫 Feeling disappointed or bummed if you don't get a response on your comments
💫 Feeling like you'd rather scroll than go out with friends or your partner
💫 Distancing yourself from your real relationships

The good news is that the more we invest and develop our real relationships, the more fulfilled and happy our lives can become.

At Inspire, we can help by setting healthy boundaries through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to recognize emotional triggers and building real-life, fulfilling connections.
