Hi, I’m Alexis—but please call me Lexi!

My early career began at Blue Bird Day School in Chicago, where I supported neurodivergent children alongside social workers and behavioral therapists. Later, at By Your Side, I continued working as a behavioral therapist with children. During my MSW program, I completed my internship at SunCloud Health in Northbrook, where I had the privilege of working with teens navigating complex mental health and addiction challenges. These diverse experiences shaped my therapeutic approach—grounded in humility, curiosity, and gratitude.

My personal journey has deeply influenced the way I show up for clients. As the youngest of five siblings, and after experiencing my parents’ divorce at age 13, I learned resilience, compassion, and the importance of self-awareness. I’ve also witnessed the impact of addiction in someone close to me, which gave me unique insight into supporting loved ones through substance use challenges while learning to care for yourself in the process.

Counseling has been transformative in my own life—I began therapy as a teen and have continued ever since. That personal experience of being seen, supported, and guided is something I carry into every session with my clients. I believe therapy should be a space of warmth, honesty, and safety, where you can gain perspective and feel empowered. As I often tell my clients, therapy is like “talking to someone who doesn’t have a dog in the fight”—someone who can help you step back and see your relationships and challenges more clearly.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about therapy, exploring this path is a brave and meaningful first step. I would be honored to walk alongside you—offering a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. Let’s figure it out together.

Adolescents

I brings clinical knowledge and personal understanding of how challenging growing up can be in today’s world.

Especially with changes in family dynamics, like divorce, or addictions.

I understands the long-term effects of these challenges can have on kids and teens.

I’ve also personally seen the power of therapy transform my struggles into strengths and set me up for success into adulthood. In fact, sharing that gift with other teens is the reason I became a therapist.

Addictions

I bring both clinical knowledge and personal understanding of how addictions can impact an individual and all those they love. I deeply honor the courage it takes to open up about these experiences.

I’m passionate about supporting anyone impacted by addiction—whether you’re personally struggling, or you’ve been affected by a loved one’s substance use. I also understand the long-term effects of growing up in a chaotic or unpredictable home environment.

Today, addictions can take many forms. Sometimes they’re more visible, like vaping, Zyn, gummies, alcohol, or other substances. Other times, they appear in more disguised ways—like excessive social media use, gaming, shopping or screen time.

I understand how overwhelming life can feel during these stages. I also get how challenging these can be, growing up in today’s world.

Whether you just want to fit in, distract yourself, numb big feelings, or escape – whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported.you’re not alone. Together, we can reclaim your power and find freedom over anything holding you back.

College & Young Adults

I love working with college students and young adults who are navigating life’s many challenges — from anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem to trauma, perfectionism, relationship stress, and the pressure to succeed in school or at work.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients grow in confidence, find their voice, and move toward a life that truly feels fulfilling.

I understand how much pressure college students, grad students, and recent grads face today — the constant comparisons, high expectations, and the push to excel academically while starting fresh in a new career. The feeling that you have to have it all figured out is exhausting.

You don’t have to go through it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you, help you make sense of it all, and support you as you grow into the best version of yourself — thriving in your one wild, precious life.

For Fun…

Outside of therapy, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, staying active, and being outdoors. I value laughter, meaningful conversations, and finding joy in everyday moments.
