Searching for a therapist can be intimidating. Let me tell you a little about myself so you can decide whether I might be a good fit for you. I grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Louis University. I am completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University, with anticipated graduation in September 2026. I recently moved to the Evanston area with my partner and our cat and I look forward to serving the local community.

I am particularly interested in working with adolescents and adults, with clinical interests that include the LGBTQIA+ community, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and neurodivergence. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a person-centered orientation that emphasizes collaboration, authenticity, and trust within the therapeutic relationship. I also integrate techniques from cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies. It is so important for me to tailor my approach to fit what works best for you!

Before coming to Inspire, I spent four and a half years providing neuropsychological assessment at a private practice and nearly a year as a child and adolescent therapist at a community mental health center. As a neuropsychology technician, I used neuropsychological assessments to aid in the diagnosis of a wide range of developmental, cognitive, and mental health concerns across the lifespan. In my work at a community mental health center, I primarily provided individual therapy to children and adolescents aged 6-17. Additionally, I co-facilitated two therapy groups for adults with chronic mental illness, using expressive art and journaling to foster meaningful social connections and emotional support.

My own experience as a therapy client helped me build confidence and process anxiety and trauma. It also reinforced my belief in the healing potential of therapy. I have always been fascinated by the many ways people think and experience the world, and I feel honored to walk alongside clients on their own journeys of healing and self-discovery.

Neurodivergence

Every individual has a brain that works differently. Those who learn, communicate, or process information differently than what society typically expects are often labeled as neurodivergent. Conditions in this category include (but are not limited to) ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and sensory processing disorder. How people perceive and interact with the world is fascinating to me, and that is why I understand that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. My experience in both neuropsychological assessment and therapy has given me a strong appreciation for the many ways people think, learn, and experience the world. I strive to create a therapeutic approach that honors those differences rather than trying to fit everyone into the same mold.

LGBTQIA+

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. It is an honor to help individuals process their thoughts and feelings about their identity. As a bisexual woman myself, I have experienced identity struggles firsthand. Professionally, I have experience working with transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals in both therapy and neuropsychological assessment. Whether you are exploring your identity, navigating relationships, or seeking a space where you can show up authentically, I strive to provide therapy that is affirming, respectful, and free of judgment.

Trauma

You are not alone in your struggle with traumatic experiences. Trauma can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like their reactions no longer make sense. The things you are experiencing are valid and on the spectrum of reactions that human beings have to traumatic events. Whatever your experiences have been, you deserve a space where they can be explored without judgment. I want to help you feel more confident and comfortable in your body and with yourself. I have a particular interest in helping clients to heal from complex PTSD and childhood trauma.

Anxiety

From an evolutionary perspective, it makes sense that many of us are on high alert for danger. However, it is very common for this to grow to a disproportionate and distressing level. Anxiety is one of the most commonly treated mental health concerns. With our fast-paced society, it is no wonder that so many people struggle with overwhelming stress and worry. Many people find that anxiety becomes much more manageable with the right support and tools. Together, we will collaborate on finding ways to ease your anxiety.

For Fun…

For fun, I enjoy traveling, going for walks, playing video games, doing arts and crafts, and reading. I love spending time with my family, friends, partner, and cat.
