Katie Meier is a Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rush University and is board certified as a PMHNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Throughout her career, Katie has had the opportunity to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, caring for individuals with a wide range of life experiences and mental health concerns. These experiences have shaped her belief that effective mental health care begins with truly getting to know each person and understanding their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. She takes a compassionate, approachable, and individualized approach to care, utilizing a combination of supportive psychotherapy and medication management.
One of the most rewarding parts of Katie’s work is building genuine connections with people from all walks of life and being able to witness their growth throughout their mental health journey. She believes that creating a trusting and comfortable therapeutic relationship is an important part of helping individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered in their care.
Outside of her professional life, Katie is a wife and mother of one child. Her experiences as a wife and mom have further shaped her appreciation for the many roles and responsibilities people navigate each day.
She brings a down-to-earth, understanding perspective to her work and values meeting each person where they are as they work toward greater mental health and well-being.
