I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Georgia. You’ll certainly hear me say y’all in sessions – but fell in love with the Midwest while getting my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Ohio State University.

Though this may be a bit out of the ordinary, my path to becoming a therapist wasn’t rooted in my own experience with therapy, but rather in a lifelong love of listening to and understanding people’s stories. That said, my own experiences in therapy have been invaluable in helping me navigate complicated family dynamics like divorce, adjusting to a blended family, and relationships with loved ones struggling with addiction.

During graduate school, my master’s thesis focused on substance use and suicidality among youth experiencing homelessness, a population I continue to support through volunteer work.

Both my personal and professional experiences have taught me that behavior always makes sense in context. They have also shaped my belief that while therapy can be transformative, it is often just one piece of the puzzle. I strive to help clients build meaningful connections—not only within the therapy room, but also with the people, communities, and resources that support lasting growth.

Marriage & Family Therapy & Gottman Method

As an Associate Marriage & Family Licensed Therapist (AMLFT), I have specialized training in understanding how our relationships shape nearly every aspect of our emotional well-being. Rather than focusing only on an individual, Marriage & Family Therapy explores the patterns of communication, connection, and family dynamics that influence how we think, feel, and relate to others. Whether you’re coming to therapy individually, as a couple, or as a family, this perspective helps uncover lasting solutions—not just temporary fixes.

I am also Gottman Method Level 2 Trained, having completed advanced training in one of the world’s most extensively researched approaches to couples therapy. Developed from more than 40 years of relationship research, the Gottman Method provides practical, evidence-based tools to help couples improve communication, navigate conflict in healthier ways, rebuild trust after difficult moments, and deepen friendship and emotional intimacy.

Whether you’re preparing for marriage, navigating conflict with a partner, questioning the future of your relationship, or adjusting to separation or divorce, I provide a supportive and structured environment where we can work together to strengthen communication, navigate challenges, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships—whether that’s with your partner, your family, or even yourself.

Adolescents & Young Adults

The transition from adolescence into adulthood can be exciting, overwhelming, and sometimes isolating. I enjoy working with teens, college students, and young adults as they navigate identity, relationships, independence, academic or career pressures, and major life transitions.

My work is informed by an intergenerational perspective, helping clients understand how family patterns and early experiences continue to influence their present lives. I integrate ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) interventions to help clients develop practical skills while also exploring the deeper roots of their experiences.

Depression and Suicidal Thoughts

If you’re struggling with thoughts that feel dark or overwhelming, you may have already discovered how difficult it can be to tell someone what you’re experiencing. What’s worse, is gathering the confidence to share this with someone being met with false reassurance or a sense that others are uncomfortable talking about what they’re going through.

I want you to know that I don’t shy away from these conversations. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about your thoughts without fear of judgment or pressure to “look on the bright side.” Whether you’re wondering if life is worth living, feeling deeply alone, or simply struggling to make sense of where you are, we’ll work together to understand your experience, identify meaningful goals, strengthen your support system, and build a life that feels worth living.

For Fun…

Outside the office, I’m a voracious reader, an avid college football fan, and what I like to consider an amateur film buff (with the emphasis on amateur). The two values I hold most dear are relationships and lifelong learning, so I’m happiest when I’m spending time with friends and family or picking up a new skill—currently, that means learning Spanish.
