Hi! My name is Renee. If you work with me, you will have a safe, comforting space to feel heard and empowered. You’ll experience genuineness, compassion and patience working in our time together. My hope and purpose is to help nurture the relationship you have with yourself, and support you in expressing and exploring your thoughts. Throughout the process, we’ll work together to build a relationship that you can trust, identify and implement strategies that are useful for you, and modify along the way.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals and couples experiencing complex-trauma, severe co-occurring mental health and substance use issues and a diverse range of presenting issues; most commonly depression, anxiety, complex trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, and adjustment issues.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My counseling philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach in order to create a safe space for my clients to explore themselves fully and maximize their potential. A strong therapeutic relationship is key to effective therapy, which I cultivate through genuineness, compassion, and patience.
Suicide Prevention
I am deeply passionate about suicide awareness and prevention efforts, and have actively participated in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention community walks and events annually. There are many ways suicide can impact our lives, and I am here to walk the path of healing with you: you are not alone.
For Fun…
My heart feels full when I explore new restaurants or have a really delicious meal, spend an afternoon cooking and baking new recipes, and experience nostalgia from hearing an old loved song. It’s the little things in life I appreciate the most; visiting a new coffee shop, freshly washed sheets, a good smelling candle, and listening to vinyls on Sundays. I’m happiest spending time with my partner and our cat, Hershey, friends, and family.
I’m a homebody at heart and love a day to wear my comfies, grab a cozy blanket, and rewatch Friends for the 100th time.
