Are you feeling stuck, stressed, or anxious? Do you or your child need help to improve confidence, make new friends, or cope with your current life circumstances? If you want tools to manage stress, improve confidence, and keep up with the demands of today — Nikkie has you covered!
Nikkie grew up in Deerfield and understands the challenges adolescents and adults face to fit in, meet expectations, and be the best.
Nikkie is passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families who are working through a life transition (school, family, friendship), anxiety, COVID-related anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, poor communication skills, family conflict, and difficulty connecting and making friends. She strives to create a comfortable, safe, empowering, and creative environment where her clients can work towards their unique and individual goals.
Prior to private practice, Nikkie served adolescents in a top eating disorder residential program, Center for Discovery in Glenview. There, she provided therapy for girls struggling with eating disorders, low self-esteem, poor body image, life skills, and assertiveness skills. She also provided crisis evaluation and therapy for inpatient care for adolescents and families at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital.
Nikkie loves this community and is committed to giving back. In fact, she has volunteered for more than 7 years leading small groups for girls to empower them to live their best lives, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.
Nikkie currently leads two weekly virtual groups for high school girls and college freshmen girls. These process style groups allow girls to connect through mutual struggles, offer support to one another, as well as learn clinical tools to help them survive & thrive- not only the challenges of today but for their adult life ahead! New clients are currently being added to both groups-please contact Nikkie for more information.
As an EMDR trained therapist, Nikkie has special techniques to treat painful, frightening, and traumatic memories.
Her personal faith and spiritual journey also allow her to provide faith-based counseling to clients, upon request. (Note: Inspire is proud to serve ALL faiths. We respect all beliefs and will not offer faith-based counseling unless requested by the client.)
Taking the first step to seek out help can feel scary! Nikkie strives to create a comfortable, safe, empowering, and creative environment where you can work towards your unique goals.
