Lauren is a warm, safe, non-judgmental, and kind therapist. She is genuinely interested in people and loves getting to know them and their stories. When you meet her, you will instantly feel supported, empowered, and understood. Lauren sees the best in people and has experience in some of the toughest situations.
As a doctoral student, Lauren has had several years of experience in a variety of settings including emergency rooms, hospitals, correctional facilities, mental health centers, and substance abuse facilities. In addition to supporting people, she has experience reading neuropsychological, cognitive, and personality tests.
Lauren is excited to bring these experiences and knowledge to support the Kenilworth community in a private practice setting. Her past experiences have taught her to recognize the therapy process to be different for every client and she prides herself on tailoring each session to meet the needs of every person.
Kids & Adolescents
Lauren brings both personal and professional experiences of challenges in childhood and adolescents. She is passionate about working with kids to create a safe environment for them to be comfortable to talk about their challenges.
Lauren wholeheartedly believes that people are not defined by what they have gone through, but instead can be stronger because of their challenges. She empowers kids to understand themselves better and take control of their lives and happiness.
Lauren understands therapy can feel uncomfortable for kids and adolescents at times. She creates a safe place for people to move as slow or fast as they feel comfortable.
Lauren works with kids and adolescents who have experienced trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, lack of social skills, bullying, low-self esteem, PTSD, and anger/ behavior management.
Adults, Parenting & Couples
Lauren loves supporting adults, parents, and couples to feel empowered, clear, connected, and understood. She began her clinical career in a community mental health setting, along with a diagnostic practicum in a medical detoxification setting. Lauren also brings unique experience from working at a medium-security prison for adult offenders. She has also worked in an emergency department for adults. Lauren has experience with a broad range of issues including substance abuse, personality and mood disorders, sexual issues, grief, parenting from prison, anxiety, and depression.
Lauren has administered, scored, and interpreted neuropsychological, cognitive, and personality tests for medical detoxification for substance abuse. She’s also facilitated groups for anger management and coping skills for irrational thoughts and behaviors. She has experience with culturally diverse clients and believes understanding one’s culture is essential to the therapeutic relationship. Her goal is that everyone feels safe, understood, heard, and validated. In a safe environment, it allows people space for unprocessed traumas to emerge and heal.
