Understands kids & adolescents struggles personally & professionally

Kayla is really a kid at heart. She has so much enthusiasm, care, and love. She greets each person with respect and importance, no matter what age.

Her passion for helping kids & adolescents stemmed from her own childhood experiences of anxiety. Although she didn’t know the name for her feelings, she later learned the power of naming and taming anxiety. She knows that knowledge is power, no matter what age!

Kayla easily relates to kids hurting and struggling with anxiety. She has now has dedicated her life to empowering other kids and adolescents to overcome their struggles and enjoy their childhoods.

College-Age Girls

Kayla loves helping college-age girls gain confidence, feel secure, and find their voice. When graduating High School, Kayla was reluctant to leave home for college. She first attended Harper, then gained the courage to go away to school, at Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale.

After gaining the courage to spread her wings, Kayla thrived and loved school. Graduating from SIU was such an accomplishment and one that she wants everyone to feel.

One of my proudest and most memorable moments was graduating college at my most favorite campus. I was so lucky to have my family by my side through all of the ups and downs. I still remember the feeling I had walking across the stage. Chills everywhere.

She learned such valuable life-lessons along with clinical tools to empower college girls to find their strength, path and confidence to move forward.

Specializing in Trauma, Anxiety & ADHD

Prior to Inspire, Kayla worked at a severe residential facility, with children ages 5-16 suffering from severe trauma, family and attachment issues. With all of her experience working with kiddos, she is so thankful and eager to practice what she’s learned at Inspire.

Kayla specializes in working with kids and adolescents who have experienced trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, lack of social skills, bullying, low-self esteem, PTSD, and anger/ behavior management.

For Fun

Kayla loves her family, above all else, including her 103-year-old Grandma (where she got her middle name!), parents, family, boyfriend and niece.

She is a Cubs fan, rescue-animal lover (with her own dog & cat rescues- Boomer & Pearl). Kayla loves camping with her boyfriend, playing games with family, going to SIU games with the biggest alumni fan (her dad!) and is learning calligraphy.
