Katelyn grew up in Georgia–raised by her mom and grandma. She knows the importance of a strong family system. She is passionate about helping people find their strength, voice and inner-peace, no matter the circumstances. She’s uniquely-equipped to help both individuals and families as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
Katelyn is warm and strong–creating a safe space to heal and make changes to live your best life. She is able to relate and gains trust from a wide variety of people — ranging from kids struggling with their parent’s divorce, anxiety and depression kids face in the North Shore and people struggling with memories of a troublesome childhood or past traumas. Katelyn also relates to people of all faiths. She can do this because she creates a unique strategy to support each person. Her clients make lasting changes by feeling understood and cared for throughout the entire process.
Katelyn knows the importance of family and school on each child and collaborates throughout treatment to create a smooth transition for your child to continue their new skills and experiences in their day to day life.
Katelyn attended The Family Institute at Northwestern University where she obtained her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to her training at the Bette D. Harris Clinic at The Family Institute, Katelyn has outpatient therapy experience in an agency setting and a foster home. She is also a Certified Divorce Mediator in Illinois and has experience working with children and adolescents whose parents are divorced or separated.
Dancing and teaching Katelyn’s other passions. She has been a ballet instructor for children ages 2-8, created adult ballet classes, been a camp counselor for Joffrey South Ballet. Katelyn choreographed and performed several dances at behavioral health centers and hospitals using creative arts therapy skills to help patients as well. Katelyn has also taught college students as a graduate teaching assistant at Northwestern University.

In her spare time, Katelyn loves baking, sewing gardening, watching football & football with her husband and corgi “Daisy.” During the holidays, her most favorite thing to do is watch Christmas Hallmark Movies. Katelyn loves music – her favorite playlist is Kasey Musgraves. To find the slower pace and live in the moment, Katelyn practices yoga, volunteers to teach Sunday School and sits around just talking with her family.
