Katelyn Easter, MS, MFT
Does your child need a safe, comfortable place to explore their feelings, relationships and navigate challenges?
As a child and adolescent psychotherapist, Katelyn creates a warm, safe connection to help her clients make changes that will improve their lives quickly. She is able to relate and gains trust from a wide variety of kids — ranging from children in foster homes, kids struggling with their parent’s divorce to the anxiety and depression kids face in the North Shore. She can do this because she creates a unique strategy to support each child. Her clients make lasting changes by feeling understood and cared for throughout the entire process.
Katelyn knows the importance of family and school on each child and collaborates throughout treatment to create a smooth transition for your child to continue their new skills and experiences in their day to day life.
Katelyn attended The Family Institute at Northwestern University where she obtained her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to her training at the Bette D. Harris Clinic at The Family Institute, Katelyn has outpatient therapy experience in an agency setting and a foster home. She is also a Certified Divorce Mediator in Illinois and has experience working with children and adolescents whose parents are divorced or separated.
Teaching and dancing are another one of Katelyn’s passions. She has been a ballet instructor for children ages 2-8, created an adult ballet class for novice adults, and has choreographed and performed many dances with patients at behavioral health centers and hospitals using her learned creative arts therapy skills. Katelyn has also taught college students as a graduate teaching assistant at Northwestern University.
Katelyn makes sure to create a unique plan for each client by acknowledging, understanding, and helping them mend their growing edges while capitalizing on their strengths so they can ultimately grow and become their best selves.
In her spare time, Katelyn loves spending her days with her husband and corgi “Daisy”, and practicing yoga.
