It only takes a spark! Maybe it’s your inner voice that sparks a feeling that you need support, or maybe you feel like you’ve lost your spark. I would be honored to start this courageous journey with you to help you nourish the spark that will inspire growth and positive change.

I welcome you into a space filled with warmth and compassion where we can explore your personal experiences to develop self-awareness and empowering skills using your unique gifts.  These skills and methods will help to guide you to a deserving state of well being. I am passionate and dedicated to helping others with a person-centered and holistic approach, and I integrate various therapeutic techniques including CBT, DBT, ACT and mindfulness.

Glenview mom and wife understanding the challenges and stress teens, parents and families face today

My husband and I both grew up in Glenview, and today we are raising our three children in the same town we have called home for decades. Our children are involved in various school activities, travel sports and extracurricular activities, so I understand the stress and demands of balancing multiple aspects of life, including sending a child off to college.

Professional & Personal Experience with Adolescents

My professional experience initiated with a solid foundation working for the City of Highland Park. At the former Firehouse Youth Center, I met with adolescents from middle school through high school. I counseled with teens who struggled with social pressures, self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. I worked with them to develop the tools they needed to succeed and thrive. In addition to the Youth Center.

Experience with Cancer, Grief, Loss, and Seniors

I also earned extensive experience with older adults at the City of Highland Park Senior Center.  There, I counseled seniors who faced loss and grief, the strains of caregiving and family dynamics, trauma, life transitions and other stressful life events.

Having a parent who has survived cancer 4 times has taught me about strength, the power of love and the human spirit. With the proper support, light can be found even in the darkest of times. The first time my mom was diagnosed with cancer, I was 12 years old, and it was a teacher who reached out and helped me.  She made me feel that I wasn’t alone and that my feelings were valid. Being cared for and feeling seen and heard is what has lived within my heart since those days, and fuels me to pay it forward to those who may feel alone or in darkness.

For fun …

I enjoy laughing and making new memories with family and friends, I believe that life is better with music, and I always love a new joke (although I admit I’m terrible at telling them) I also enjoy going on walks in the evening. Unfortunately, I can’t take my adorable bulldog “Bully” along.

My parents promised me a dog when I graduated college and along came “Bully”… a very low-maintenance “porcelain” pooch.

They promised a dog- just not a real one!
