Claire Foss, LCSW

Anxiety, Women’s Issues, Trauma, PTSD, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, and Postpartum Issues.
Claire was born & raised on the North Shore and is now raising her own family here. She knew from a young age she wanted to be a therapist and give back to others the comfort, peace, and acceptance that she experienced in her own therapy. While she has years of excellent clinical experience–her own life experiences and the positive impact of counseling make Claire uniquely equipped to support people in their darkest moments.
Adults, Anxiety & Trauma
Claire has spent a large part of her career gently supporting people who have had extremely hard experiences in life, including active-duty traumas, loss of vision, and life changes after medical surgeries. She has a huge heart for people who are in pain and has seen many of life’s most difficult challenges.
Claire spent 6 years working with active-duty service members and veterans who experienced complex mental, medical and social conditions, such as PTSD. She also worked with families and veterans in the Medical Intensive Care & Surgical Unit to navigate the aftermath of medical care. Additionally, Claire has worked with the Blind Rehabilitation Center, helping people with the challenges of vision loss, and the impact it has.
Suicidal Thoughts and Impacts
Claire knows how invasive and intrusive suicidal thoughts and actions can be, both professionally and in her own personal relationships. She understands how unbearable life can feel when an individual is weighed down with these unwanted thoughts. Claire also knows how hard it is to watch someone you love struggle with thoughts of hurting themselves. She loves helping people free themselves from unwanted thoughts and feelings and supporting the whole family system.
Couples Therapy
As a wife and mother herself, Claire knows the incredible power of having a healthy relationship. Helping couples is one of her favorite things to do because the impact of that relationship is so influential. She loves to see couples learn to trust each other and regain their friendship and “spark”.
