Following a few years of turmoil and uncertainty in her own life, Amanda recognized the importance of taking ownership of her goals and emotions. She began a daily practice of yoga and mindfulness, which later led to her receiving certification as a yoga teacher. Being able to help herself and others in this way made her want to dive deeper into her education in order to help people on another level. Amanda is a warm and welcoming presence offering truly holistic healing with a collaborative approach. She is ready to help you take control of your own life and start reaching for your own goals today.
ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Amanda has done a lot of work these last couple years of the pandemic with students struggling with anxiety and depression. Having learned many coping tools for anxiety herself at one time, she is truly passionate about helping others to escape the unwanted thoughts and psychosomatic symptoms that come along with anxiety and depression.
CHILDREN/TEENS/COLLEGE
Amanda began her counseling career working in various schools with students from the ages of 3 to 18. As a former school counselor, she understands the unique pressure and added stressors kids and teens are facing today. She is also highly aware of how difficult the big transitions (i.e., starting high school or college) can be! She would love to create a safe space for students to work through whatever is getting in the way of their success in school and in friendships.
COUPLES
As a wife and new mom, Amanda understands the importance of effective communication in relationships. She believes that any relationship can be healed if both parties want to do the hard stuff. Oftentimes individuals get so caught up in what is going wrong that they need a third party to help them find their way back. Amanda would love to help couples find their way back to each other and see improvement in the rest of their lives along the way.
FOR FUN
Outside of the office, you can find Amanda spending time with her loving husband, wonderful daughter, and their fur babies. She loves to be outside as much as possible, especially during the warm weather. Going for walks with her dog, traveling to new places, drinking coffee, and of course, doing yoga, are just a few of her favorite activities.
