Alexis strives to make her clients feel safe, welcome, and accepted through the use of empathy, genuineness, and humor. Her counseling approach is rooted in CBT, DBT, and a strengths based approach. Alexis works with clients to identify their strengths in order to find growth and healing.
Adolescents, Adults, and Couples
Alexis is passionate about working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings to support patients and their families with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. Alexis has also worked in a community mental health setting where she worked one on one with domestic violence survivors and helped them on their journey to healing. She understands the importance of empathy and patience in supporting clients as they share their stories. She strives to make her counseling room a safe space for all.
Culturally Sensitive
Alexis is a Malayalee Indian and is passionate about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health for Southeast Asians. She has first hand experience in navigating intercultural/interracial relationships. She understands the difficulty of navigating between cultures and is enthusiastic about supporting others through their challenges.
