Lauren Schifferdecker, MA, LCPC
Founder, Clinical Director
Lauren is a licensed clinical professional counselor, TEDx speaker and published writer. She founded Inspire as part of her mission to help people live their best life. The staff at Inspire believe in using clinical tools, neuroscience and research.
In addition to counseling, Lauren gives talks, including a TEDx talk, as part of Inspire’s mission to educate, inspire and serve the community. She also holds seasonal workshops, open to the public, at her office.
Lauren is known for her energy, enthusiasm and goal-orientation. Her warmth and humor has her clients comfortable and motivated to improve their lives.
Becky Freeman-Murray, MA LCPC
(Specialties: Children, Pre-Adolsecents, Autism, Parenting, Couples)
Becky is a seasoned therapist with 20 years of clinical experience. She specializes in counseling for anxiety, depression, child life specialist, self esteem, parenting, couples counseling, autism (ASD), intellectual disabilities and IEP advocacy.
Becky brings inpatient and outpatient experience from Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital as well as Clearbrook. She was a Child Life Specialist at Miami Children’s Hospital supporting families, individuals and children. Becky knows the value of supporting the entire family system, particularly parents and couples, when a child in the family is struggling.
Becky is a mom of adult children, a wife and she understands many of her client’s challenges showing a compassionate and warm approach. She believes in facing our struggles and learning to live our most creative, fulfilling and passionate life possible. Becky genuinely believes in new possibilities for all her clients!

Laura brings extensive experience from the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (age 12-18) at Northwest Community Hospital as well as Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health. She also supports local schools with mental health awareness and workshops (ages 5-15), including St. Cathrine Laboure School.
Laura specializes in counseling for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, academic issues, addictions, ADHD, autism, self-esteem, self-injury, trauma, mood disorders, anger management, operation defiant disorder (ODD), coping skills, grief and loss, life transitions, career counseling, peer issues, boys and girls issues. She is currently accepting new clients ages 5+ .
With her diverse experience, Laura brings genuine empathy and an ability to tailor treatment plans designed for each specific client’s needs and goals. She is warm, relatable and loves seeing her clients improve their lives.
Katie Golem, MSW, LSW
(Specialties: Couples, Pre-Marital, Adolescents, Individuals)
Katie specializes in counseling for anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and relationship obstacles.
She believes in empowering her clients by focusing on their strengths, collaboratively creating goals and work towards positive outcomes together. She utilizes an integrative approach working in partnership with clients and couples towards practical solutions. She offers a warm, empathetic and supportive environment.
Katie is graduate of Loyola University Chicago where she earned her masters degree in social work with an emphasis in clinical mental health.
Northwestern University (Specialties: Women, Adolescents, 20’s)
As part of Northwestern University’s nationally-renowned Master of Arts in Counseling Program, Amy brings warmth and experience to clients of all ages.
Amy is an emmy-nominated television journalist, wife, mom and longtime supporter for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children in courtrooms. With a heart for helping others, Amy is now focusing her passion in counseling and psychotherapy.
As part of the internship program, and Inspire’s heart for the community, Amy is accepting new clients with a discounted rate ($25 per session) with flexible scheduling.
Jackie is a valued member of the Inspire team. She is warm, caring and intelligent.
